This is my grandma’s church.  It’s at the nursing home where she lives.  I thought the color of this particular photo in this particular setting looked really nice.  One thing to note about it is there aren’t usually chairs in it, as most of the residents use wheelchairs to get around.  This day, though, they were having services for a recently passed resident.  It reminded me to take another look at a series of photos I’ve been showing in my portfolio.

I had originally been showing this series in color, but have always been unsatisfied with the color balance- most of the photos were taken under nasty green-tinged florescent lighting.  As I was preparing to submit it for a portfolio review, I had the epiphany that they should be black and white.  Not sure why I never considered it before, but I think it makes a world of difference.  Click the above photo to see the series.
